Artist-in-Residence Cat Manturuk to Give
Free Master Class at UW-Eau Claire

EAU CLAIRE — Artist-in-Residence Cathy "Cat" Manturuk will hold a dance master class from 6-8 p.m. Nov. 18 in the McPhee Dance Studio at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

The master class, sponsored by UW-Eau Claire's Office of Research and Sponsored Programs and the department of music and theatre arts, is free and open to the public.

The dancer and choreographer will be at UW-Eau Claire as Artist-in-Residence in the music and theatre arts department Nov. 16-22. Manturuk will be a guest lecturer in dance appreciation, ballet and tap classes, as well as choreograph a new work for the Concert Dance Company that will be preformed at the spring Danceworks concert.

Manturuk is the founder and artistic director of Dance Cat-alyst, a soul-driven contemporary dance company. This season, Manturuk will teach students at UW-Eau Claire and in Nanjing, China. She also will be an assistant choreographer to New York City's Lethal Weaponz Breakdance Crew and showcase repertoire at Jazz Choreography Enterprises.
