Registration Opens for Fall Personal Enrichment Courses

EAU CLAIRE — Registration is now open for the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extension non-credit Personal Enrichment Courses.

Designed for adults interested in learning a new skill, exploring a topic in-depth or developing creative abilities, the programs are taught by UW-Eau Claire faculty and staff who are committed to sharing their knowledge and expertise.

All classes will be held on the UW-Eau Claire campus unless otherwise noted.

  • "A Tour of the Night Sky: Astronomy Made Simple," taught by Dr. Nathan Miller, professor of physics and astronomy, will run from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Sept. 16, 23, 30 and Oct.7.
  • "Exploring the Glacial Landscape of Chippewa County," taught by Dr. Kent Syverson, professor of geology, will be held Sept. 27. The guided coach tour departs from UW-Eau Claire at 8:30 a.m. and returns at 5 p.m.
  • "Explorations in Biblical Archaeology I," taught by Dr. Harry Jol, professor of geography and anthropology, will be held from 9 a.m-5 p.m. Oct. 18.
  • "Explorations in Biblical Archaeology II," taught by Jol, will run from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Oct. 21, 28, Nov. 4 and 11.
  • "An Introduction to Writing and Publishing for Children," taught by Dr. Jack Bushnell, professor of English, will be held from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 1.
  • Mini seminar "Popular Music and the Vietnam War," taught by Robert Bloom, Vietnam veteran and history teacher, will run from 1-4 p.m. Nov. 8.

The cost for each program is $95; the mini seminar is $25. Enrollment in each course is limited, so early registration is recommended.
