UW-Eau Claire Offers Supervisory Management Seminars

EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extension will present Supervisory Management Certificate program workshops in June.

  • "Supervisory Management 3" will be held June 3-4 at the Cleary Alumni and Friends Center at UW-La Crosse and on June 12-13 at Sweetwaters Restaurant in Eau Claire. Topics include working toward more effective coaching, establishing job expectations and critical skills in the coaching process.
  • "Maximizing Performance" will be held June 4-5 at Sweetwaters Restaurant in Eau Claire. Topics include creating an environment for excellence, identifying what you are rewarding, fine-tuning coaching and goal-setting techniques, diagnosing performance problems, and turning around undesirable behaviors and rewarding desirable behaviors.
  • "Managing Your Diverse Workforce" will be held June 10-11 at the Cleary Alumni and Friends Center at UW-La Crosse. Topics include age and gender differences; adaptation to differences; approaches to managing different people; and barriers to productivity, communication and work satisfaction.
  • "Tools and Techniques for On-the-Job Training" will be held June 17-18 at the Cleary Alumni and Friends Center at UW-La Crosse. Topics include how to set up one-to-one job instruction training for efficient task mastery, job documentation, training checklists and how to adapt to various trainee learning styles.
  • "Taking Charge of Change" will be held June 18-19 at Sweetwaters Restaurant in Eau Claire. Topics include the impact of proposed changes on employees, customers and suppliers; why people resist change; how to overcome resistance; and strategies for minimizing potential trauma that changes may create in people and firms.

All workshops meet from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. The $425 per person individual course fees include lunch, breaks, materials and instruction. The group fee is $375 per person for three to five people from the same firm attending the same session and registering at the same time.

Designed for managers, supervisors and small business owners, the workshops may be taken individually or as part of the certificate program requirements.
