Space Available in June QuickBooks Workshops

RELEASED: May 12, 2008

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Small Business Development Center and Continuing Education will offer practical tips and techniques for using QuickBooks 2008 software in hands-on, small workshops during June.

Instructor Jim Mattson, an accountant and computer consultant with Bauman Associates in Eau Claire, will bring to the workshops more than 15 years of experience helping small businesses develop efficient and effective accounting systems.

  • "QuickBooks Accounting Basics" will start from scratch with software setup; basic accounting tasks; and how to use accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll functions. The workshop will run from 8:30 a.m.-noon on June 6 and 13.
  • "Using QuickBooks Effectively" will be an advanced class for those familiar with QuickBooks software or for those who have completed "QuickBooks Accounting Basics." It will focus on security features, customization issues, and helpful tricks and reports. The workshop will meet from 8:30 a.m.-noon June 20.

Classes will meet in the computer lab in Room 210 in Schneider Hall at UW-Eau Claire. Space is limited so early registration is recommended.

Per person workshop prices are $170 for "QuickBooks Accounting Basics" and $90 for "Using QuickBooks Effectively." A discount is available for registration in both workshops at the same time ($228 total). Fees include instruction, course materials and refreshments.

To register or obtain more information, contact the Small Business Development Center. Reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities will be made if requested two weeks in advance. Contact Marilyn Kanne at 715-836-5811/toll-free 800-582-5182, use the Wisconsin Relay System (711), e-mail ce@uwec.edu or visit the Continuing Education Web site.

The workshops are sponsored by the Small Business Development Center at UW-Eau Claire Continuing Education.
