EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education and Career Services offices will present a "Reentering, Rethinking and Reworking Your Career" workshop from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, at the Continuing Education office, 210 Water St., Eau Claire.
The workshop is for individuals interested in clarifying career and work goals, exploring career and educational options, setting goals and taking action, and conducting a successful job search.
Workshop participants will use self-assessment tools to identify strengths and preferences, find out how to make a successful career change, locate job and career resources, and plan a job search campaign.
Workshop presenters are Betty (Twink) Hanson and Jesica Witte. Hanson has spent more than 25 years as an employment and training specialist, helping people from 16 to 60 figure out what they want to be when they grow up. As a retired director of the Educational Opportunity Center at UW-Eau Claire, she understands the issues of nontraditional students and of adults wanting to make a career change.
Witte is an expert on changing career paths, having done it several times herself. A former television journalist, Witte now works in UW-Eau Claire's Career Services office. She enjoys helping others find their passion.
The fee for the workshop is $29 for the public and $19 for UW-Eau Claire alumni ($10 support is provided by the UW-Eau Claire Alumni Association).
