UW-Eau Claire to Offer Seminar on Enhancing Advertising Effectiveness

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Small Business Development Center and the Office of Continuing Education will offer "Getting BIG Marketing Results with Small Ad Budgets" from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. June 11.

The workshop will meet at the 29 Pines/Sleep Inn & Suites Conference Center, located at the intersection of Highway 29 and County Road T.

Workshop highlights include selecting a target market, defining promotional objectives, setting promotional budgets, developing media plans, using creative strategies and evaluating promotional effectiveness. Participants also will learn about the latest promotional techniques, how to stretch ad budgets and what's hot in advertising. It is designed for small business owners and managers, sales and marketing professionals, graphic designers and business consultants who want to immediately implement the ideas from the workshop in their businesses.

Dr. Chuck Tomkovick, professor of management and marketing at UW-Eau Claire, will be the instructor. His advertising research has been featured in The New York Times, The Washington Times, Advertising Age, Adweek, Fortune, Forbes and other national media outlets, including broadcast affiliates of CBS, ABC, NBC, FOX, WGN and National Public Radio. As a bonus, Tomkovick will provide 45 minutes of free private business marketing consultations to each participant within six months following the seminar.

The workshop fee is $169 per person and includes instruction, materials, refreshments, lunch and Continuing Education Units.
