UW-Eau Claire EAC to Offer Workshop on Fly Fishing

fly fishing imageEAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Environmental Adventure Center will collaborate with the Ojibleau Chapter of Trout Unlimited to offer a two-part "Introduction to Fly Fishing" workshop.

The workshops will run from 4-8 p.m. April 7 in the EAC on upper campus and April 9 along the Chippewa River near Haas Fine Arts Center.

The workshop will introduce participants to the basic components of fly fishing, familiarizing them with equipment, teaching them to cast and tie basic flies, and practicing fishing on the river. The workshop also will include discussions on conservation and healthy stream habitats.

All necessary equipment will be provided for the workshop, but participants are responsible for acquiring a Wisconsin Fishing License.

The workshop fee is $5, which includes a membership in the local chapter of Trout Unlimited.
