Jazz in the Valley Events for March 11-16 Announced

RELEASED: March 10, 2008

EAU CLAIRE — Jazz in the Valley, a citywide jazz celebration, will continue throughout March and culminate with the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's 41st annual Jazz Festival March 27-30.

UW-Eau Claire jazz musicians will perform in a series of free events throughout the city. For a full schedule of events, see the Jazz in the Valley link at www.chippewavalley.net or call 715-831-2345.

Following are the performances scheduled for this week:

Tuesday, March 11:

  • The State Theatre, "Jazz at 5," featuring the Brian Claxton Collective, 5 p.m.
  • Racy D'Lenes, The John Raymond Project, 6:30-8 p.m.

Wednesday, March 12:

  • The Acoustic Café, vocalist Jo Alexander and The Alex Chilsen Band, 7-8:30 p.m.

Thursday, March 14:

  • The Oakwood Mall food court, UW-Eau Claire's Jazz IV Ensemble, 6:30 p.m.
  • The Shanghai Bistro, Jeremy Boettcher Trio, 6:30-9 p.m.

Friday, March 15:

  • Festival Foods, UW-Eau Claire Jazz I Sax Quartet, 10 a.m.; Refined Yet Undefined, noon-3 p.m.
  • The Oakwood Mall food court, Hot Garbage, 11 a.m.

Saturday, March 16:

  • Borders Books and Music, trumpeter Chris Bresette, 3-5 p. m.
  • The Shanghai Bistro, Adam Braatz and vocalist Courtney Karns, 6:30-9 p.m.
