UW-Eau Claire Alumni Association Announces Board Changes

RELEASED: June 13, 2008

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Alumni Association has announced changes to its board of directors for 2008-09, including the retirements of seven members and the addition of six new members.

The board's primary functions are to generate programs and activities for alumni and serve as a public relations organization for the Alumni Association.

Michael Carney '83, Eau Claire; Karen Coonen '81, Seymour; Joel Everts '95, Green Bay; Erica Keezer '92, '04, Prescott; and Richard Kneer '73, Eau Claire, are retiring from the board this month after serving two three-year terms. Julia Lokken '02, Eau Claire, is retiring after one three-year term. Marcia Nelson Jezwinski '71, Madison, retires after two three-year terms and after serving from 2005-07 as president of the board.

Six new members approved at the March 2008 board meeting will begin serving their terms on Aug. 4. They are Travis Colvin '04, St. Louis Park, Minn., financial analyst for Target India; Jill Fenn '01, Eau Claire, creative development and promotions supervisor for National Business Institute; Kent Letnes '06, Eau Claire, owner of Bear Creek Grille; Adam Mohr '02, Altoona, financial adviser for Ameriprise Financial; Shawn Pfaff '94, Fitchburg, senior associate of Capitol Consultants Inc.; and Andrew Schlafer '92, Altoona, financial adviser for Edward Jones.

"We appreciate the commitment and service of the seven retiring board members," said Sam Stagliano '81, Eau Claire, Alumni Association board chair. "At the same time we welcome the six new members and look forward to working with them in the coming year."
