EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and Continuing Education/UW-Extension will sponsor a Central European Travel Seminar from July 28 through Aug. 23. The tour will focus on exploring and increasing understanding of the history and culture of Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, Poland, Lithuania and Latvia.
Tour highlights include the following:
UW-Eau Claire faculty members Dr. Irene Lazda, associate professor of foreign languages, and Dr. Paulis Lazda, professor of history, will serve as tour guides. They teach courses on German language, literature and culture and Central European history, respectively, and this is their 25th year leading the tour. They will be joined by several guest experts during the tour. Central European diplomats and academics will participate in some of the site visits and share their direct experience of history being made in Central Europe.
The estimated cost of the tour is $3,350 (double room occupancy). Included in the cost are lodging, two meals/day; entrance fees, transportation in Europe, tour guides, and health insurance. Airfare to and from Europe is not included.
