Musical Events
for the Week of Feb. 4

RELEASED: Jan. 29, 2008

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will present the following musical performances the week beginning Monday, Feb. 4. All events are free and open to the public.

Sunday, Feb. 10:

  • Dr. Jerry Young, professor of music, on tuba, and Dr. Barbara Young, music lecturer, on piano, will perform a faculty recital at 2 p.m. in Gantner Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. The concert will open with J.S. Bach's Sonata in G Minor, followed by the Adagio from "The Limpid Stream" by Dimitri Shostakovich, "The Dancing King" by Jesse Ayers, and Concerto No. 1 by Richard Strauss. The final two selections, "Somewhere, Over the Rainbow" by Harold Arlen and "Donna Lee" by Charles Parker Jr., will feature the jazz trio Sabbatical Report, consisting of Young on tuba and assistant professors of music Dr. Phillip Ostrander on piano and Dr. Jeffery Crowell on drums.
