UW-Eau Claire to Offer Supervisory Management Seminars

EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extension will offer several Supervisory Management Certificate program workshops in January.

  • "Supervisory Management 1" will run Jan. 10-11 at Sweetwaters Restaurant in Eau Claire and Jan. 29-30 at the Cleary Alumni and Friends Center at UW-La Crosse. Topics include the supervisory aspect of management, understanding leadership styles, motivating employee performance and dealing with non-performance.
  • "Improving Managerial Efficiency" will be held Jan. 15-16 at the Cleary Alumni and Friends Center at UW-La Crosse. Topics include how to gain productive work time, techniques for paper handling, prioritizing and organizing work, project planning, accelerated learning, speed reading, mind mapping and memory enhancement.
  • "Managing Projects and Project Teams" will be held Jan. 31-Feb. 1 at Sweetwaters Restaurant in Eau Claire. Topics include how to run efficient team meetings, long-range project planning techniques, systems for organizing multiple projects, generating project "buy in," enlisting power brokers for project support, solving unexpected problems and strategies for handling crisis situations.

Workshops run from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. A $425 per person course fee includes lunch, breaks, materials and instruction. A $375 per person group fee applies when three to five people from one firm attend the same session and register at the same time. Designed for managers, supervisors and small business owners, workshops may be taken individually or as part of a certificate program.
