EAU CLAIRE — Auditions for the spring session of the Chippewa Valley Youth Symphony will be held Jan. 15.
The youth symphony has openings in the following instrument groups: bassoon, alto sax, trumpet, trombone, tuba, percussion, violin, viola and bass.
Interested musicians can register online for an audition.
CVYS provides opportunities for area youth in grades 7-12 to develop and showcase their artistry in a full symphony orchestra experience under the direction of music director Eugene Power. It is made possible through a partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extension.
Student participants meet from 6-8 p.m. Tuesdays in the Haas Fine Arts Center.
Cost for the spring session is $75. Financial assistance is available if needed.

The CVYS spring season will begin Jan. 22. The symphony will perform two concerts this spring and open for a Chippewa Valley Symphony concert.
