SUBJECT: UW-Eau Claire Chancellor Hosts Public-Private Partnership Symposium
Area business, government and nonprofit leaders will meet with UW-Eau Claire Chancellor Brian Levin-Stankevich this week to discuss possible public-private ventures for the Chippewa Valley, such as a civic center or performing arts center.
The symposium is slated for noon-4:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, in the Chippewa Room at the Royal Credit Union Corporate Center, 200 Riverfront Terrace, in downtown Eau Claire.
Steven Semingson, a UW-Eau Claire graduate who is now president of Civic Partners Inc. in Huntington Beach, Calif., will lead a discussion about private businesses partnering with public agencies. Semingson has decades of experience working with public-private ventures.
During the symposium, local leaders also will share information they gathered during a conference they attended this winter that focused on financing facilities through public-private partnerships.
For more information about the symposium, contact Mike Rindo, special assistant to the chancellor, at 715-836-4742 or rindomj@uwec.edu.
