EAU CLAIRE — The Center for International Education at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will celebrate International Women's Day with a panel discussion, reception and library display.
CIE will host a panel discussion at noon March 6 in Davies Theatre.
Five international students will discuss how International Women's Day is celebrated in their countries and share their thoughts about the celebration. Panel participants are Ravshan Yakubov and Janona Ahtamova from Uzbekistan, Daniela Palimariu from Romania, Biljana Alampioska from Macedonia and Jiezhi Zhou from China.
A reception in the Skylight Lounge will follow the panel discussion.
The McIntyre Library display will feature cultural artifacts relating to women from around the world. It will be on display through March in the Grand Corridor of the library.
International Women's Day, typically held on March 8, is an important holiday in many countries, including Vietnam, Romania, Macedonia, Uzbekistan, China and others.
