Shamrock Shuffle Set for March 9 to
Raise Funds for Youth Sports Program

logo for Shamrock ShuffleEAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire department of Recreation & Sport Facilities will host the Shamrock Shuffle, a 5K fun run/walk on March 9. The event will start at 10 a.m. at the American Legion Post 53 at 634 Water St. in Eau Claire.

All proceeds from the event will support the Wisconsin Youth Sports Program (formerly known as the National Youth Sports Program), a five-week summer sports camp for youth aged 10 to 16 from economically disadvantaged families.

The program will teach sport skills and competition, and help educate participants in the areas of math and science, health and nutrition, careers and the importance of education.

Teams of six or more should register by Feb. 29 and individual advance registration is due by March 6. Individuals can register the day of the event beginning at 9 a.m.

The fee is $12 for individuals registering in advance or $15 for people registering the day of the event. Team registration is $17 per member.

Team members will receive a long-sleeved T-shirt. The first 125 individuals registered will receive a short-sleeved T-shirt.

Sponsors for the event include UW-Eau Claire, UW-Eau Claire Recreation & Sport Facilities, UW-Eau Claire aerobic program and the American Legion.
