EAU CLAIRE — The Student Senate at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will host Government Day from 2-5 p.m. Feb. 18 in the Wisconsin and Presidents rooms of Davies Center.
The event is organized to offer students an opportunity to interact directly with their elected government officials at the city and state levels, find out about today's issues and learn more about the importance of politics in their lives, said Robert Hamill, a junior who is a member of the Intergovernmental Affairs Commission of Student Senate.
Government Day participants include members of the Eau Claire City Council, state Reps. Jeff Smith and Terry Moulton, Dr. Margaret Gilkison and Dr. Geoffrey Peterson of UW-Eau Claire's political science department, Student Body President Ray French, and Eau Claire County Sheriff Ron Cramer.
For more information, contact the Student Senate at 715-836-4646 or stusen55@ uwec.edu.
