EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Small Business Development Center and Continuing Education will offer practical tips and techniques for using QuickBooks 2008 software for small business in hands-on workshops.
Instructor Jim Mattson, an accountant and computer consultant with Bauman Associates in Eau Claire, brings to the workshops more than 15 years of experience helping small businesses develop efficient and effective accounting systems.
All sessions will meet in the computer lab in Room 210 of Schneider Hall at UW-Eau Claire.
Space is limited so early registration is recommended. Per person workshop fees are $170 for "QuickBooks Accounting Basics" (two morning sessions) and $90 for "Using QuickBooks Effectively." A discount is available for people who register for both workshops at the same time ($228 total). Fees include instruction, course materials and refreshments.
To register or obtain more information, contact the Small Business Development Center. Reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities will be made if requested two weeks in advance. Contact Marilyn Kanne at 715-836-5811/toll-free 800-582-5182, use the Wisconsin Relay System (711), e-mail ce@uwec.edu or visit the Continuing Education Web site.
The workshops are sponsored by the Small Business Development Center at UW-Eau Claire Continuing Education. The SBDC is a member of the Wisconsin Entrepreneurs' Network, a coalition of more than 100 organizations that provide access to services for small business throughout Wisconsin.
