High School Students to Compete in
26th Annual Regional Math Meet

RELEASED: Feb. 1, 2008

EAU CLAIRE — Students from 18 western Wisconsin high schools will participate in the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's 26th annual regional Mathematics Meet in Hibbard Hall Feb. 16.

The event is hosted and staffed by UW-Eau Claire's mathematics department.

The 33 teams will be placed in one of three groups based on school size. All participants and sponsors will receive T-shirts and certificates.

Contestants will compete for team and individual awards. The top four competitors from each of the three divisions will be awarded UW-Eau Claire scholarships, funded by Xcel Energy. The award ceremony will begin at 12:45 p.m. in Room 100 of Hibbard Hall.

In case of bad weather, the meet will be held Feb. 23.
