EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Small Business Development Center is accepting applications for its Entrepreneurial Training Program that will begin Feb. 10, 2009. Class space is limited. Early registration is recommended.
The series of 12 comprehensive sessions is designed to help people learn the fundamentals of small business management and to help them create a business plan that will guide their actions and attract potential investors. Sessions meet from 6:30-9:15 p.m. on Tuesdays in the Haas Fine Arts Center at UW-Eau Claire.
"The series is designed for those who are serious about starting a business or those already in businesses who need structured training," said Jim Mishefske, SBDC business director. "It is intended for people who need a comprehensive business plan for funding, expansion, planning or evaluation of their business idea."
The program fee is $1,000. The Wisconsin Department of Commerce provides tuition assistance in the amount of $750 to qualified applicants who complete the program and prepare a written business plan.

By the end of the series, participants will have completed a comprehensive business plan. Individualized counseling from the Small Business Development Center is available at no charge to all program participants as they work on their business plans during and following the series.

The Small Business Development Centers are members of the Wisconsin Entrepreneurs' Network, a coalition of more than 100 partner organizations which provide access to services for small business throughout Wisconsin.
