EAU CLAIRE — A mini farmers market featuring fresh produce, flowers and other local specialties will be on the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire campus from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. every Thursday from Sept. 4 through Oct. 23.
The Fresh Start Farmers Mart, formerly Jeremy's Market, will be set up on the north sidewalk in front of Zorn Arena, rain or shine. The market showcases five to six vendors from the Downtown Farmers Market, primarily those who sell fresh fruit, vegetables, flowers and locally produced foods. The Fresh Start Farmers Mart increases the university community's awareness of the existence and location of the Downtown Farmers Market, and provides local food producers with a campus sales outlet.
The weekly event is part of the University Centers Community Engagement program, directed by Paula Stuettgen. More information on the event is available online or by calling 715-836-4803.
