EAU CLAIRE — Employers and organizations are invited to participate in the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire 51st annual Career Conference to be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, in Zorn Arena.
The Career Conference, sponsored by campus business fraternity Beta Upsilon Sigma and the Student Accounting Society, offers students and alumni the opportunity to discuss career plans, exchange resumes and make preliminary contacts with participating organizations. These contacts allow employers to follow up with more formal interviews either on or off campus.
Underclassmen benefit from the Career Conference by talking to representatives about what potential employers have to offer, which may help clarify their career goals. Organizations may also offer information about internship opportunities.
More than 100 employers, including companies, graduate schools and state and federal agencies, attend this event each year. Participating employers are invited to attend a preconference reception beginning at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, at the Plaza Hotel, 1202 W. Clairemont Ave. At the reception company representatives can network with students and faculty.
There is a $175 registration fee for the conference. Included in the registration is the preconference reception, a complimentary continental breakfast and lunch for two company representatives, shuttle parking service (including unloading and loading before and after the event) and a company booth (including a table measuring 5 feet by 2 feet, 6 inches).
Priority deadline for registration is Aug. 22. Register online, or send checks made payable to Beta Upsilon Sigma along with a copy of the registration form to Debbie Peterson, UW-Eau Claire Career Services, P.O. Box 4004, Eau Claire, WI 54702-4004.
For more information about the Career Conference, contact Debbie Peterson at 715-836-6018 or petersdk@uwec.edu. For information about the preconference reception, contact Chad Hable by e-mail at hablecj@uwec.edu or CCR@uwec.edu.
