EAU CLAIRE — Four students set to attend the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire this fall have been named Diversity Scholars for the 2008-09 academic year.

The Diversity Scholars program, funded through the UW-Eau Claire Foundation, was created to recruit and retain academically strong students from historically underrepresented groups. The new Diversity Scholars are Brittany Henn, Appleton, daughter of Kelvan and Patricia Henn; Kang Zoua Vang, Menomonie, daughter of Wung Tus Vang and Yer Her Vang; Nathaniel Zeckmeister, Antigo, son of Mike and Tracy Zeckmeister; and Alex Mersch, Arbor Vitae, son of Ron and Andrea Mersch.

UW-Eau Claire is consistently recognized by U.S. News & World Report and other national publications as one of the nation's best educational values and among the top public regional universities in the Midwest.
