Salem Student Awarded Scholarship
to Attend UW-Eau Claire This Fall

RELEASED: Aug. 6, 2008

EAU CLAIRE — Kathleen Merrill, Salem, who will attend the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire this fall, has been awarded a Satz and Ilgaudas Families Scholarship. She is the daughter of Glen and Patty Merrill.

Established in memory of David and Gertrude Satz and Jacob and Berta Ilgaudas, the UW-Eau Claire Foundation scholarship is awarded to a freshman student selected by the executive director of admissions. Preference is given to a student who meets one or more of the following criteria: first-generation college student, immigrant to the United States or child of an immigrant, a minority or economically disadvantaged student, or a student who shows evidence of a strong commitment to social and economic justice and/or public service.
