Students Awarded Opportunity
Scholarships to Attend UW-Eau Claire

RELEASED: Aug. 6, 2008

EAU CLAIRE — Brianna Denk, Greenwood, and Elizabeth Talford, Mondovi, have been awarded Tim and Melissa Hoeppner Opportunity Scholarships to attend the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire this fall.

Tim Hoeppner, a 1982 graduate of UW-Eau Claire, and Melissa Hoeppner created the new scholarship to assist incoming freshmen with great potential to be successful students and leaders but extraordinary circumstances that make paying for a college education very challenging. Tim Hoeppner's employer, The MacArthur Foundation, also contributed corporate matching funds to fund the scholarship. As long as recipients make satisfactory academic progress, the scholarship may be renewed for four years.

UW-Eau Claire is consistently recognized by U.S. News & World Report and other national publications as one of the nation's best educational values and among the top public regional universities in the Midwest. For more information on scholarship opportunities, visit the UW-Eau Claire financial aid Web site.
