UW-Eau Claire's Accounting and Finance Department Awards Scholarships to 16 Students for 2008-09

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's accounting and finance department in the College of Business has awarded departmental scholarships to 20 students for the 2008-09 academic year.

Senior accounting major Benjamin Anderson, White Bear Lake, Minn., was awarded a $400 Heinrich-Dahlheimer Accounting Scholarship.

Barbara Arriola, a junior accounting major from Chippewa Falls, received a $500 Accounting Faculty Scholarship.

A $1,000 RSM McGladrey Accounting Scholarship was awarded to Kayla Buhr, a senior accounting major from Glenwood City.

Senior Andrea Draize, an accounting major with a psychology minor from New Berlin, received a $750 Suby, VonHaden & Associates Scholarship.

Dustin Follen, a senior accounting and finance double major from Marshfield, received a $400 Ray Petkovsek Accounting Excellence Scholarship, established by Petkovsek, a 1973 UW-Eau Claire accounting graduate and founding partner of the accounting firm Petkovsek & Moran.

Blake Gillen, a senior accounting and finance double major from New Richmond, was awarded a $500 Charles Wnukowski Scholarship.

Senior Andrew Holland, an accounting and business economics double major with a Spanish minor from Eau Claire, received a $1,500 Craig Johnson Scholarship.

A $1,000 Jann Ozzello Wilcox and John Wilcox Scholarship was awarded to Wing-Yin Hui, a junior accounting and finance double major from Hong Kong, China.

Senior accounting and finance double major Tyler Kelly, Appleton, received a $1,000 Virchow Krause & Company Scholarship.

Sarah Leuck, a senior accounting major with a management minor from Gordon, received a $1,500 Albert Colianni, Jr. Accounting Scholarship.

Junior accounting major Jordan Mauss, Caledonia, Minn., was awarded a $500 Deloitte Touche Accounting-Twin Cities Scholarship and a $700 KPMP Peat Marwick Accounting Scholarship.

Theresa Monpas, a junior accounting major from Chippewa Falls, received a $1,750 Wipfli LPP Accounting Scholarship and a $500 Ernst & Young Scholarship.

Senior Kyla Perlongo, an accounting major from Bruce, received a $400 Lucretia Mattson Scholarship, established to honor Mattson, professor emerita of accounting at UW-Eau Claire.

Leah Pitt, a junior accounting and finance double major from Chippewa Falls, received a $500 Cargill Accounting Scholarship and a $500 3M Accounting Junior Scholarship.

Rachel Proeber, a junior accounting and information systems double major and finance minor from Slinger, received a $1,000 Patricia E. Ozzello Scholarship.

Junior accounting major Daniel Thesing, La Crescent, Minn., was awarded a $1,750 Wipfli Accounting Scholarship.

Senior Karen Vlach, an accounting major from Beaver Dam, received a $900 Larson Allen Scholarship.

Caitlin Welsh, a senior accounting major and management minor from Wausau, received a $500 Boulay, Heutmaker, Zibell & Co. Scholarship.

Senior Shannon Winters, an accounting major and finance minor from Chaska, Minn., received a $1,000 Virchow Krause & Company Scholarship.

Ashley Ann Zimmer, a junior accounting major from Owen, was awarded a $500 Packaging Corporation Scholarship.
