EAU CLAIRE — The opening for "The Art of Pastels," an exhibit of works by artists in the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education's "An Introduction to Pastels" class, is slated for 5:30-7 p.m. May 2 at the Goat Coffee House on Water Street in Eau Claire. The exhibit will continue through the end of May.
The class, part of Continuing Education's Accessible Arts Series, was taught by UW-Eau Claire assistant professor Dr. Barbara Erdman. It was designed for people who have basic drawing and composition skills and an interest in experimenting with a new artistic medium. Students acquired techniques such as blending, cross-hatching and layering.
The Accessible Arts Series is part of UW-Eau Claire's Personal Enrichment programs.
Designed for adult learners, the noncredit classes offer opportunities to explore new interests and skills. Fall courses include:
