EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Jazz Ensemble III will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. April 24 in Gantner Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center.
Jazz Ensemble III, under the direction of Jeffery Crowell, assistant professor of music, will begin with "Farquhar's Revenge" by Ted Pease, followed by Frank Mantooth's "Dangerous Precedent," "Lil' Darlin'" by Neal Hefti, and Dizzie Gillespie and Charlie Parker's "Shaw 'Nuff."
The second half of the concert is scheduled to begin with "Blues 1, Band 0" by Mike Tomaro, "Rompe Cabezas" by Matt Harris, and "Peace" by Horace Silver. The concert will conclude with "Take It All" by Fred Sturm.
Prior to the Jazz Ensemble III performance, the Arcadia Middle School Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Jim Gallagher, will perform at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets, available at the University Service Center, 715-836-3727 or 800-949-UWEC, are $4 for the general public; $3 for those 62 and older, children 17 and younger and faculty and staff with a university ID; and free for students with a university ID.
