Registration Opens for 'Doing Business Globally 2008'

RELEASED: April 22, 2008

EAU CLAIRE — "Doing Business Globally 2008," an annual event to help businesses considering exporting and those currently selling products internationally, will be held from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. May 15 at the Holiday Inn, Eau Claire. The program is planned by University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education, the Wisconsin Department of Commerce International Division and the Northern Wisconsin International Trade Association.

The Wisconsin Department of Commerce has directors positioned globally to help Wisconsin businesses develop international markets and increase worldwide sales. Directors from Brazil, Canada, China, Europe, Japan and Mexico will participate in a panel discussion, provide current updates on the markets in their countries and answer attendee questions.

Richard Martens, international sales manager of Weinbrenner Shoe, will share his perspective on the challenges and rewards of international trade, and Fergal McGrath, professor of information and knowledge management at the University of Limerick, Ireland, will discuss the business environment in Ireland. A panel of local and regional business executives will share experiences from and advice on participating in the global marketplace.

The program fee is $75 per person registering on or before May 8 and $99 per person registering after May 8. There is a $20 student fee. The registration fee includes refreshments, lunch and program materials.
