Two UW-Eau Claire Designers
Honored by National Association of Campus Activities

RELEASED: April 21, 2008

EAU CLAIRE — Two University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire designers received awards in the 2008 graphics competition of the National Association for Campus Activities Northern Plains Regional Conference.

Recognized for excellence in design, innovation and creativity, the winning entries were exhibited and the awards presented at the NACA regional conference April 3-6 in St. Paul, Minn.

Lara Jones, Madison, a senior graphic design major who works as a designer in the Activities and Programs office on campus, received an award for a one-color T-shirt design created for the 2008 Winter Carnival.

Teresa Steffens, Madison, was recognized for an outdoor banner promoting "Jesus Camp," a documentary film presented by the University Activities Commission of the Student Senate. A junior majoring in sociology, Steffens is deputy director of public relations for the UAC.

Activities and Programs is a unit of University Centers and Programs and a longtime member of the National Association of Campus Activities, the nation's largest collegiate organization for campus activities. Formed in 1960, NACA links the higher education and entertainment communities in a business and learning partnership.

NACA Northern Plains includes schools primarily from Montana, Wyoming, Wisconsin, the upper peninsula of Michigan, Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and the Canadian provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and western Ontario.
