The UW-Eau Claire English Festival is one of the largest student-run language arts festivals in the nation, featuring guest authors, lectures by English faculty members, student panels, capstone presentations, an international poetry reading and live music each day on the campus mall.

The 2008 theme for the English Festival is "Interactive English Fest: We Really Know How to Turn You On ... to English!!" The theme focuses on the relationship between literature and the digital world and how technology has prompted the globalization of literature.

Raley will host an interactive workshop on literature and the computer from 4-6 p.m. April 29 in Room 307 of Hibbard Hall and will then speak on this topic that evening from 7-9 p.m. in Room 103 of Hibbard Hall.

Other activities throughout the week will include a book sale on the Central Campus Mall from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. April 28-29; an International Poetry Reading at 7 p.m. April 30 in the Council Fire Room of Davies Center; an open reading from 7-9 p.m. May 1 in The Cabin in Davies Center; live music every day on the Central Campus Mall; student capstone presentations, panel discussions, and more.
