EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire branch of the Collegiate Chapter of the Wisconsin Association for Middle Level Education will host a "Pennies for Peace" fundraiser April 21-25.
CWMLE's goal is for faculty, staff and students to donate one penny per pound of their total weight. Donations will be taken at Jazzman's, Market Place, University Bookstore, Hilltop Food Court, Hibbard Hall's a la carte line, Haas Fine Arts Center and Brewer Hall.
"Pennies for Peace" is a fundraiser for the Central Asia Institute, which helps build schools in remote areas of Pakistan and Afghanistan. The organization's mission is to promote and provide community-based education and literacy programs, especially for girls, in remote mountain regions of Central Asia.
