Economics Students to Debate Pros and Cons
of 2008 Economic Stimulus Package

RELEASED: April 9, 2008

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's department of economics will host a debate during Honors Week from 4:30-5:30 p.m. April 23 in Room 100 of Hibbard Hall. A reception will follow the presentation.

money imageThe debated topic will be the 2008 Economic Stimulus Package. With the economy seemingly headed into a recession, Congress and the White House have enacted a program to give money back to citizens. The debating students will discuss the pros and cons of these actions.

Students participating are seniors Robyn Fennig, Muskego, Sarah Fisher, Milton, Aaron Brewster, Stanley, Brandon Miller, Bay City and Jared Koerten, Plover, and junior Anthony Angeles, Bloomington, Minn.
