Musical Events
for the Week of Oct. 1

RELEASED: Sept. 21, 2007

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will present the following musical performances the week beginning Monday, Oct. 1. All events are free and open to the public.

Tuesday, Oct. 2:

• Senior Steven Ethington, Madison, will present a viola recital at 5 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. Ethington will open with Dimitri Shostakovich's Quintet, Op. 57, assisted on piano by junior Jesse Traner, Scandia, Minn.; on violin by senior Mike Muelling West Bend; on violin by senior Liz Krickhahn, Mukwonago; and on cello by senior Katie Douglass Lake Elmo, Minn. Following will be a performance of Beethoven's String Quartet, Op. 132, with Muelling, Traner and Douglass assisting. Ethington will also present Mozart's Trio in E-Flat Major, K. 498, with junior Andrea Johnsen, Eden Prairie, Minn., assisting on clarinet.
