Hispanic Heritage Month Reception
Today in Davies Center

Hispanic Heritage Month logoEAU CLAIRE The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Office of Multicultural Affairs and Student Organization of Latina/os is holding a Hispanic Heritage Month Reception today from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Presidents Room of Davies Center.

Students, faculty, staff and community members are welcome to enjoy Latin American appetizers, music and educational displays.

Additional events scheduled for Hispanic Heritage Month, sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Affairs, are as follows:

  • Thursday, Sept. 27 — Hispanic Heritage Month Student Panel - Discussion topic: "First Generation Latina/o College Students," 3-4 p.m., Presidents Room, Davies Center. Complimentary refreshments provided.
  • Friday, Sept. 28 — Multicultural Student Scholarship Recognition Banquet - 24th annual, 6-8 p.m., Council Fire Room, Davies Center.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 2 — Teatro del Pueblo (The People's Theatre) performing:"Help Wanted," a one-act play based on a true story of Mexican immigrants who come to Minnesota seeking a better life; their hardships and triumphs, 6-8 p.m., Davies Theatre, Davies Center.
  • Friday, Oct. 12 — Sabor Latino Luncheon - 3rd annual, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., in The Dulany, Davies Center.
