Several UW-Eau Claire psychology students and their instructor, Daniel Holt, have revived the BARC program, which works with the Eau Claire County Humane Association to retrain dogs that display problem behaviors in an effort to make them more adoptable. BARC, which stands for Behavioral Applications Regarding Canines, offers students opportunities to propose specific questions regarding canine behavior and then carry out research, record data, and write and present papers about their findings — all skills Holt said they will need in their future careers or as they pursue graduate programs. Participation in the program also helps students fulfill their service-learning requirement for graduation. For more information, contact Holt (715-836-5479 or holtdd@uwec.edu) and students Kristine Funk (952-994-1218 or funk@uwec.edu) or Erin Barney (608-217-2039 or barneyee@uwec.edu).

UW-Eau Claire will host Jeremy's Market, a mini farmers market, from 7:30-11:30 a.m. Thursdays through Oct. 25 by Zorn Arena.
The market, featuring fresh produce, flowers and other local specialties, is another way to bring the campus and greater Eau Claire communities together. For details, contact Paula Stuettgen at 715-836-4803 or stuettpj@uwec.edu.
