UW-Eau Claire's Financial Aid Office
to Host Open House for Higher Education Day

RELEASED: Oct. 1, 2007

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's Financial Aid office will participate in Higher Education Day this year by holding an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9.

Counselors and advisers will be available to answer questions and meet with students and parents. All questions about financial aid for college are welcome — from details about the application forms to individual eligibility concerns and special circumstances.

If this timeframe is not convenient, anyone interested is invited to call the office for information and advice at 715-836-2027. Kathleen Sahlhoff is director of financial aid at UW-Eau Claire.

The Financial Aid office is located in Room 115 in Schofield Hall. Parking is available by contacting the UW-Eau Claire Visitor Center at 715-836-2544.

Wisconsin's governor, lieutenant governor, secretary of state, state treasurer and superintendent of public instruction have collaborated together in a joint proclamation to designate this day Higher Education Day. The day is set aside to raise awareness among all citizens that higher education in Wisconsin is accessible, to inspire students of all ages to reach for post-secondary education as a goal, and to educate children and adults about saving for post-secondary education by making them aware of the savings and financial assistance programs available to them through EdVest and other resources.
