RELEASED: Nov. 30, 2007

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Small Business Development Center and Office of Continuing Education are now taking registrations for the QuickBooks hands-on workshops for small businesses to begin Friday, March 7. QuickBooks software is designed specifically for small business and is highly rated and recommended for efficiency, accuracy and ease of use.

"QuickBooks Accounting Basics" is a two-morning workshop that will run from 8:30 a.m. to noon March 7 and 14. Participants will learn software setup, basic accounting tasks, and how to use accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll functions.

"Using QuickBooks Effectively" is an advanced class for those who have completed "QuickBooks Accounting Basics" or have experience with the software. It will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon Friday, March 21, and will focus on special features, tips and optimizing practices.

Sessions are held in Room 210 of Schneider Hall on the UW-Eau Claire campus and are taught by Jim Mattson, an accountant and computer consultant with Bauman Associates in Eau Claire. Mattson has more than 15 years experience helping small businesses develop efficient and effective accounting systems.
