Symphonic Choir to Perform
in Gantner Concert Hall Dec. 2

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Symphonic Choir will present a concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, in Gantner Concert Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. The choir will perform with the University Symphony Orchestra, directed by Nobuyoshi Yasuda, associate professor of music.

Alan Rieck, associate professor of music, will direct the ensemble as they open with "Vesperae Solennes de Confessore" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Featured for this piece is the solo quartet consisting of associate professor Mitra Sadeghpour, soprano; assistant professor Jessica Riley, mezzo-soprano; associate professor Daniel Newman, tenor; and professor Robert Knight, baritone.

The second half of the concert will feature Giacomo Puccini's "Messa di Gloria: Opera Posthuma, 1880." Newman and Mark Mowry, lecturer of music, will be the featured tenor soloists, and Knight will be the featured baritone for the piece.

Tickets, available at the University Service Center, 715-836-3727 or 800-949-UWEC, are $5 for the general public; $4 for those 62 and older, children 17 and younger and faculty and staff with a university ID; and $1.50 for students with a university ID.
