UW-Eau Claire Forensics Team
Takes Third at Two Tournaments

RELEASED: Nov. 20, 2007

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire forensics team took third place in team sweepstakes at the Edna Sorber Invitational Forensics Tournament at UW-Whitewater on Saturday, Nov. 10, and again at the Badger Memorial Invitational at UW-Madison on Sunday, Nov. 11.

Following are the individual results for the Edna Sorber Invitational Tournament.

Junior Justin Rudnick, Stanley, placed first in communication analysis.

Senior Hilary Rasmussen, Eau Claire, placed second in program oral interpretation, third in poetry interpretation and third in informative speaking, qualifying that event for AFA.

Freshman Meghan Pickard, Eau Claire, took third in impromptu speaking.

Sophomore Dylan Jambrek, Waukesha, qualified for NFA by placing third in communication analysis.

Sophomore Jake Johnson, Mondovi, placed fourth in impromptu speaking, qualifying for NFA. He also took fifth in informative speaking.

Sophomore Kerry Nutting, Wausau, placed sixth in dramatic interpretation and qualified for NFA.

Freshman Ryan Bessett, Green Bay, took sixth in after-dinner speaking and qualified for NFA.

Following are the individual results for the Badger Memorial Invitational.

Rudnick qualified for NFA by placing first in communication analysis. He also took fifth in informative speaking and placed second in individual sweepstakes.

Rasmussen placed first in poetry and program oral interpretation, qualifying for AFA in poetry.

Jambrek placed second in communication analysis. He also placed third in informative speaking, qualifying the event for NFA.

Pickard took fourth in informative speaking.

Johnson took fifth in extemporaneous speaking and qualified for NFA.
