Still Time to Register for
QuickBooks Workshops

RELEASED: May 30, 2007

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Small Business Development Center and Office of Continuing Education are accepting registrations for two QuickBooks workshops for small businesses that begin June 8.

QuickBooks software — designed for small businesses — is highly rated and recommended for efficiency, accuracy and ease of use, according to the SBDC.

"QuickBooks Accounting Basics" is a two-part workshop that runs from 8:30 a.m. to noon June 8 and 15. Participants will learn software setup, basic accounting tasks, and how to use accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll functions.

"Using QuickBooks Effectively" is an advanced class for those who have completed "QuickBooks Accounting Basics" or have experience with the software. It will run from 8:30 a.m. to noon June 22. The workshop will focus on special features, tips and optimizing practices.

Sessions will be in the Cargill Computer Lab in Schneider Hall. Jim Mattson, an accountant and computer consultant with Bauman Associates in Eau Claire who has more than 15 years of experience helping small businesses develop accounting systems, will teach the classes.

Per person workshop prices are $170 for "QuickBooks Accounting Basics" and $90 for "Using QuickBooks Effectively." The cost to attend both workshops is $228, a savings of $32. Fees include instruction, course materials and refreshments.

Reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities will be made if requested at least two weeks in advance. Contact Jim Mishefske for accommodations or with program questions at 715-836-5811 or 866-893-2423, e-mail ce@uwec.edu, or use the Wisconsin Relay System (711). Visit the Web site for more details.
