Addition of New Show in April

RELEASED: March 29, 2007

EAU CLAIRE — The L.E. Phillips Planetarium at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire announces the addition of a new planetarium show, "The Top Ten Celestial Objects."

This show features an illustrated presentation of the best celestial objects in the night sky, along with information on their structure, distance and place in the sky. The presenters will show the audience tricks for locating these celestial wonders, along with the constellations in which they can be found. The new show is part of a science outreach program supported by the Gritzmacher Science Education Fund through the UW-Eau Claire Foundation. It was produced by sophomore Jeremy Weyer, Eau Claire, a UW-Eau Claire physics education major.

"The Top Ten Celestial Objects" will be featured at the planetarium's regular public presentations every Tuesday night in April at 7 pm. Tickets are just $1 and are available at the door. Tuesday night shows are aimed at ages 10 and over (children's shows are Saturday mornings at 11 a.m.).

The L.E. Phillips Planetarium is in Phillips Science Hall on the UW-Eau Claire campus. Free parking is available on weekends and evenings. More information is available online or by calling 715-836-5034.
