Time to Register for Annual
Science Institute at UW-Eau Claire

Science Institute imageEAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education and UW-Extension announce the 28th Annual Science Institute to be held July 15-27 for students entering grades 6-12.

This year's program offers classes in astronomy, nanotechnology, computer architecture and robotics, Wisconsin field biology, introductory physics, electricity and magnetism, and environmental public health. Instructors include university faculty and licensed secondary teachers.

Science Institute focuses on hands-on experiments and projects that encourage in-depth exploration of the chosen science fields. Instructors also discuss science-related career opportunities. Designed for students with a strong aptitude in the sciences, Science Institute provides a high level of academic challenge.

Students attend class from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each weekday. Outside of class, Science Institute offers a structured recreational program and access to campus facilities and resources. Students are assigned adult counselors who stay with them in the campus residence halls and plan recreational activities.

The $1,020 fee includes more than fifty hours of instruction, twelve nights lodging in double occupancy rooms, three meals daily, 24-hour adult counselor supervision, use of campus facilities, and recreational activity fees. Some courses have additional materials fees for projects that students will take home. Full and partial scholarships are available to Wisconsin residents with financial need through the DPI Precollege Scholarship Program.
