UW-Eau Claire Honored for
Role in Synergy Initiative

RELEASED: March 22, 2007

EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education has received an Excellence in Community Service award from the Learning Resources Network, an international association in lifelong learning.

UW-Eau Claire was honored for its involvement in the Synergy Initiative for West Central Wisconsin. The annual event brings representatives of business and industry, education and government together to work toward sustainable growth for the region.

The university's award-winning program was selected from more than 100 entries from four countries.

LERN honors programs that are at the leading edge of the lifelong learning field. Other award criteria include: originality, innovation, appropriateness and adaptability as a model for other programs and measurable outcomes.

LERN will feature UW-Eau Claire's award on its Web site and in the LERN Magazine and newsletters.
