Supervisory Management Series Offered
By UW-Eau Claire Continuing Education

EAU CLAIRE — University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW-Extension will present several workshops from the Supervisory Management Certificate program in March and April.

  • "Supervisory Management 2" will be held March 29-30 in Eau Claire at Sweetwaters Restaurant. Topics include establishing orientation policies and procedures, understanding communication behaviors, time management, delegating, and developing your employees.
  • "Tools & Techniques for On-the-Job Training" will be held April 12-13, in Eau Claire at Sweetwaters Restaurant. Topics include how to set up one-to-one job instruction training for efficient task mastery, job documentation, training checklists, and how to adapt to various trainee learning styles.
  • "Managing Projects and Project Teams" will be held April 17-18 in La Crosse at the Cleary Alumni and Friends Center, on the UW-La Crosse campus. Topics include how to run efficient team meetings, long-range project planning techniques and systems for organizing multiple projects.
  • "Supervisory Management 1" will be held April 19-20 in Eau Claire at Sweetwaters Restaurant. Topics include the supervisory aspect of management, selecting your leadership style, motivating employee performance, and discipline and work rules.
  • "Negotiation Skills" will be held April 25-26 in Eau Claire at Sweetwaters Restaurant. Topics include negotiating project deadlines, work assignments, budget and human resource allocations, and strategies, skills, and motivations for negotiating win-win outcomes.

All workshops meet from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Individual course fees are $425 per person and include lunch, breaks, materials and instruction. Group fee is $375 per person for three to five people from the same firm attending the same session and registering at the same time. Designed for managers, supervisors and small business owners, the workshops may be taken individually or as part of the certificate program requirements.
