UW-Eau Claire's L.E. Phillips Planetarium
Announces Summer Shows

space imageEAU CLAIRE — Stargazers and astronomy buffs can experience the stars rain or shine this summer at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire's L.E. Phillips Planetarium.

Shows for youth ages 4-12 are Saturdays at 11 a.m. Shows for adults and youth ages 11 and up are Tuesdays at 7 p.m. No shows will be held the first week of July. Tickets are $2 and are available only at the door. Each hour-long show includes a multimedia presentation as well as discussion of currently viewable constellations and planets.

The Tuesday evening show through June is "More Than Meets the Eye." "Constellations, Myths and Legends" will run Tuesday evenings beginning July 10, and "Wonders of Deep Space" will run Tuesdays in August.

The Saturday morning children's show through the end of June is "Secrets of the Cardboard Rocket." "Lifestyles of the Stars" will run Saturday mornings beginning July 14, and "Stories of the Summer Sky" will run Saturdays in August.

The L.E. Phillips Planetarium is on the first floor of Phillips Science Hall on the UW-Eau Claire campus, through the building's north entrance and inside the James Newman Clark Bird Museum. Free parking is available weekends and evenings in the university lot just behind Phillips Hall. For group shows, contact Jeremy at 715-577-2510.
