Musical Events
for the Week of March 5

RELEASED: Feb. 28, 2007

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will present the following musical performances the week beginning Monday, March 5. All events are free and open to the public.

Monday, March 5:

  • Mezzo soprano Melissa Kocken, a junior from Greenleaf, and soprano Amy Stanfield, a sophomore from Lake Geneva, will present a joint student voice recital, with a varied program featuring the music of German, Italian, Spanish, French and American composers, at 5 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. Piano accompaniment will be provided by senior Leslie Bergmann, Mazeppa, Minn., and sophomore John Turba, Platteville.

Tuesday, March 6:

  • Senior Corey Van Sickle, Pigeon Falls, will perform a trombone recital at 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. He will open with "Three Romances" by Robert Schumann, followed by "Parable for Solo Trombone" by Vincent Persichetti. Van Sickle will also perform works by Joseph Guy Ropartz, Victor Ewald and Mozart. He will be assisted by seniors John Lydon Edina, Minn., Jesse Orth, Portage, and Charles Willcutt, Bloomington, Minn; and sophomore Heather Patton, Green Bay. Piano accompaniment will be provided by senior Emily Weber, Marshfield.
