Hospice Foundation Offers 14th Annual
National Bereavement Teleconference

RELEASED: Feb. 23, 2007

EAU CLAIRE — "Living with Grief: Before and after the Death," the Hospice Foundation of America's 14th national bereavement teleconference will be held 12:30-3 p.m. Thursday, March 22, at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire School of Nursing. A panel of experts will examine and discuss anticipatory grief and mourning, strategies and interventional approaches to death and funeral rituals, research on the effectiveness of grief interventions, ways our understandings of grief have changed over the last 20 years, the current debate over a new DSM category for complicated grief, and current research and theory on grief reactions of professional caregivers.

Thanks to sponsors UW-Eau Claire, UW-Extension, and the Chippewa Valley Family Caregiving Alliance, the cost for this program is $10. The fee includes the broadcast and handouts.

Continuing education credits are available through the Hospice Foundation at an additional charge. The program is designed to meet the needs of social workers, case managers, funeral directors, nurses, psychologists, nursing home administrators, psychologists, art therapists and other caregivers.
