Musical Events
for the Week of Feb. 26

RELEASED: Feb. 22, 2007

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire music and theatre arts department will present the following musical performances the week beginning Monday, Feb. 26. All events are free and open to the public.

Sunday, March 4:

  • Les Favorites will hold a concert at 4 p.m. in Phillips Recital Hall of the Haas Fine Arts Center. The ensemble consists of Bradley Johnson, music and theatre arts faculty on baroque violin and viola; Ivar Lunde Jr., professor emeritus, on baroque oboe; Laura Handler, guest artist, on baroque violoncello; Lucinda Marvin, guest artist, on baroque violin and Nanette G. Lunde, professor emerita, on harpsichord. The program features the Sonata a Tre in D Minor and Gagliarda a Tre by Turini, Sonata IV in G Minor by William Babel and Sonata a Tre in C Minor by Giovanni Benedetto Platti. The second half of the concert will open and conclude with Marin Marais' Piece en Trio in C Major for Oboe, Two Violins and Basso Continuo.
