UW-Eau Claire Forensics Team
Takes Second in Twin Cities Tournament

RELEASED: Feb. 19, 2007

EAU CLAIRE — The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire forensics team placed second in the Twin Cities Forensics League Tournament #5 held at Normandale Community College in Bloomington, Minn., Tuesday, Feb. 13. Many of the individuals from UW-Eau Claire qualified for the national forensics tournaments at this event.

Following are the individual results from the Twin Cities Forensics League Tournament #5:

Senior Christine Zani, Hurley, placed first in informative speaking, qualifying that event for the American Forensics Association National Tournament.

Senior Amy Oldakowski, Sobieski, took first in after-dinner speaking, qualifying that event for AFA.

Freshman Paul Gilleland, Fall Creek, placed second in after-dinner speaking, qualifying that event for the National Forensics Association National Tournament, and fifth in poetry interpretation.

Sophomore Nathan Jahnke, Madison, took third in after dinner speaking.

Sophomore Jessica Walter, Eau Claire, placed third in prose interpretation, qualifying the event for NFA, and fifth in informative speaking.

Junior Katie Nichols, Pembine, took fourth in poetry interpretation and fourth in prose interpretation.

Freshman Nick Miller, Stoughton, placed fourth in impromptu speaking and sixth in duo interpretation with freshman Laura Magnusson, Apple Valley, Minn.

Sophomore Justin Rudnick, Stanley, placed fifth in prose interpretation.
